Stockholm is by far the easiest to fly to. the only other real option is Gothenburg and its closer to Jonkoping but its a real pain for flights.
Heathrow is still the easiest for us in the southwest. Bristol has no flights.

Here is way i was thinking of doing.

25th
Fly from Heathrow to Stockholm. £110 - £150 depending on airline
Catch the Arlander express to the city centre. £41 return. should be able to get this cheaper with the deals they do.
Catch a train direct to Jonkoping. Cant check prices yet but its about £50 return
Taxi to hotel. £20 each for a return.
Check in to the hotel. £150 each if 4 sharing a 4 bedroom.

26th
LAN

27th
LAN

28th
LAN

29th
LAN finishes at 9am.
Sleep all day.

30th
Taxi to train station
Catch the train back to Stockholm
Catch the Arlander express to the airport
Fly home

For us it's going to be cheaper (and more importantly the flights are direct) going to Copenhagen and then getting the 3hr train up to DH costing $50 return.

So far, all votes are for the winter event. That's the one we'll do then!

If you guys would like, then you could consider a holiday in Copenhagen - it's a really really amazing city (in my opinion, cooler than Stockholm). The trains are super easy too with the main train station being easily accessible and about the same size as Stockholm.

Mike's plan looks great, I'll personally fit into that, but I'm not sure if I'll follow it directly yet - still waiting on my super sekrit plans ;)

Copenhagen is not a bad idea to fly in to rather than stockholm.
Merson do you have any details on the train?

Quick search I did shows a large amount of services a day starting from 7am and finishing at 9pm. Maximum of two stops, minimum of one taking between 3hr15 and 4hr30. I was quoted between $50 & $80 (Age of 25) depending on the time of the service. Overall I think it's more accessible then Stockholm.

Yeah personally I'm up for skipping Stockholm and going directly to the LAN and home again afterwards. Agreed on the gaming part too - I think I played 1-2 total games of LoL while there, the majority of the time was watching E-sports which I plan to do again :D

so currently there is 6 that are up for it. It would be good if it was possible to get to 8 and then we can do the 2 rooms of 4 options.

Mikes plan, sounds like a plan!

myself and mike were having a dicussion the other day it might be best to think about booking a Hotel room sooner rather than later, once people have got time off confirmed.

Both myself and Lee have the time booked off. So we're ready whenever.

Well this is once again on my mind and i have a question for all that are going.

Myself and Shaun are going to book a room in the Scandic hotel that is onsite from the 25th for 5 nights with the plan of us getting there the day before the lan and leaving the day after once we have slept. Would anyone else like to share the room?

We can get a 4 bed family room for £700 if we have 2 others who want to share.
Myself and Shaun will be taking the 2 single beds. leaving us with 2 wall mounted beds. these would set you back £150 each for the 5 nights.
We may be also able to have some floor space for a small contribution but i cant say for sure until we see the room on the day
I am happy to book the room but would like the money within a reasonable amount of time after i book it.

If you would like a bed please speak now as if you don't we will book a smaller room.

OK, we're going to pass. We can get an 8pm flight on the day the LAN ends. We'll likely need to book somewhere to stay for the night before the LAN starts, but we don't mind roughing for the event itself with an air bed. Unless you don't mind myself and Lee roughing with you guys for a small fee.
