My early plan is to either fly to Stockholm during the night and then get the train down man mode style. Or stay the night before in Stockholm then get the train being well rested. The second option sounds the best as you hardly get any sleep during the event so adding a sleepless night onto that would be too much.

Did anyone look at places to stay? I would kill for a bed to go to for the first two nights. Obviously don't sleep the last night like every other one we've done.

Hell could even hire out a camper van and drive down from Stockholm. Would be an epic trip and cool experience.

its a nice idea but its going to cost a lot more then a train. but then you get someplace nicer to sleep during the event.
also who wants to drive for 4 hours after dreamhack :)

That woulddddd be very dangerous!

The hotel next to the venue (Scandic) wants £350 from 27th-30th ;( The price per night was £117 if you just want a room on the last day or something.

Could just sleep somewhere in the van during the day and drive back during the evening/night ready for a morning flight.

I like the idea - better sleep and at least somewhere to brush your teeth etc.

Costs doesn't like too bad considering we're splitting it 6-7 ways

well it would be split 6 ways as its the max seats/beds. although it will prob be 3x double beds.
Looking at £120 each. not bad tbh when you put it up against the train and such

we we fly over and then jump in the camper and drive down sleep in it the night before the lan. sleep after and drive back later and fly back it could work well.
the train is £60 each and we would not need hostels at about £50 each for the 2 nights.

*scrolls through threads since last visit*

Camper van sounds a good idea, i believe we all have driving license's so shouldn't be an issue. Sharing a bed again not an issue as we are "adults".

So to recap:-

Fly > Camper Van > road trip to LAN
Epic LAN :D
Sleep > Road trip to Airport Fly back.

Cost Analysis per person:-
Camper VAN - £120
Fuel - £TBC
Flights:- £TBC
Tickets for Event:- £TBC

Have you considered how warm a campervan will be, in winter, in Sweden?

Additional drivers costs extra money with that particular rental company - not sure if this is standard, however its a 3 hour drive (ish) so would additional drivers be needed?
