Already told myself I would be going to another Dreamhack in 2014. Just no sightseeing part beforehand this time.

yup i plan to go over. I know Alien also is interested.

Not sure about a holiday before. tempted to have a few days in Gothenburg as i have no other holidays planned yet for next year. if ppl are not interested we could just meet at the event or someplace the day before.

Yeah I know, I was kidding 64 is a good number :)

Not sure if there is anywhere in Exeter area that is bigger than that hall, without being ott such as West Point, which is probably loads more expensive :P

Wouldn't wanna sleep in Matford Center, as it sinks from cattle markets :D

We have power and networking kit. 64 is ok for space, another row would be doable, say 72. The trouble is we only have tables for 64, and if we expand beyond that we'd have to rent tables and soforth. Which is expensive / a ballache.

Think that would be the best bet! Most likely a stop over in Stockholm for a night unless i can get there early enough for the 6/7am train to the event.

I'm in, that fits well with a lot of other things, so sure ;)

For anyone that is interested, there are 7 of us that have done Dreamhack before, I think we all freaking loved it ;) In 2011 and 2012 when we went, we visited Stockholm. Seen all of it now, so that is why there is talk about only seeing Jönköping this time.

The event was 17,500 the last time we went - a lot of computers, people, mini events, etc. It's absolutely nothing last a normal WestLAN.

Things you should consider;

  • You will need a passport and be okay with flying.
  • Costs are likely to be around about £350 (£100 flight, £75 dreamhack ticket, £50 train, £50 backpackers hostel, £50 food and the rest on spending money) if we do the event only. I've aimed for a higher number rather than a lower number, just to give you a rough idea of costs.
  • The event is 4 days - it's long. The sleeping conditions are really bad (noisy, very cold floor).
  • You will be surrounded by trillions of 14 year old Swedish boys shouting "haaaaa looooo"
  • It's fucking good fun ;)
