I wouldn't mind manually uploading the photos but, when I tried, the system screamed at me and said my photos were the wrong size. CBA the adjust the images to fit :P
No rush, Neil. I'm just a super keen egg!

I have deleted the two that you manually uploaded Neil. For some reason they are being converted(?) to PNG format when uploaded, and thus are absurd file sizes :?

Interesting!
I tried uploading a few yesterday in the hope that I didn't have to upload them one at a time, and then have to re-find the upload page and select the event for each image. I'll wait until I can get hold of those ftp details to avoid converting them to png(?!) and I can upload more than one at a time.

Why on earth does the uploader convert them to png? ROFL

It's safer to reprocess the image, and PNG is a nice clean format that simplifies some code and presentation.

I had started work on a multi image uploader and resizing, but just never finished it. I'll be coding a lot on other stuff this weekend, I'll pop it into the queue.

Photos generally get bigger when converted to PNG (from JPG) so that isn't necessarily a great format for photos on the web.

Anyways, after creating a bunch of thumbnails for the photos Jani sent over - the gallery is here: http://westlan.co.uk/viewGallery.php?id=52
