I need to smell nice D:

Postby ManaTime » Thu Mar 28, 2013 4:12 pm

I read that there are no showers, this makes me very sad and very stinky :(

Is there anywhere else locally I could maybe steal some hot water from? Maybe a Bed and breakfast or some form of gym with a shower?

I know this sounds very weird to ask, but It makes me feel comfortable knowing I could shower. If not, Is there a possibility of a hosepipe in a garden? :D
I'd rather shit in my hands and clap.

There's a fire station next door to the hall. We could set you alight? :)

Exmouth Swimming pool would probably be your best bet

If it's that much of a problem, there's a few people who live very local to the hall and I'm sure they could sort something out if you really needed it.

You gotta think of it this way to be honest - there are no showers for anyone thus everyone will smell.

And to be honest, its not an issue, just bring some shower in a can like everyone else ;)

Indeed, deodorant is your friend! I have also used dry shampoo in the past - it is essentially talc in a sprayable form in a can - removes all the grease from your hair and makes you feel a bit better ;) I personally buy it from Wilkinsons for 97p. ;)

You can also get a pretty good wash over the sink in the ladies bathroom.

Is that a euphemism for something?

Its not that I am a stinky person, I just love showering/bathing every day. I should stop complaining about this, so I do apologise
Sadly due to years of dying my hair I have become somewhat immune to dry shampoo. Ive manned up and taken on the decision of using the ladies lavatory as a bathroom. If people smell of uber bad B.O do I have permission to give them a 'light' spray of febreeze?

Thanks all for the help :)

It's not going to amazingly hot there, and like I said you will only be going for 48 hours without a proper wash. Just take a can of deodorant / anti-perspiration and you'll be fine, Saltlan has been going for ages this way and it has worked fine.

Or book yourself into a hotel, or go to a swimming pool and use their showers as suggested.

It's not an unreasonable ask. We wish was had proper showers, it's really hard work to find a decent hall. Unfortunately it's one of the things budleigh doesn't have. (We'd also like a "proper" sleeping room). But the rest of the facilities are good. (We have a decent kitchen, plenty of electric, they let us stay overnight, organised booking lady and are reasonably priced)

Our previous hall had showers. I have to say generally speaking communal showers tend to be pretty manky anyway.

If you want the ladies all to yourself, pop the front door on mag-lock (Ask the staff). We occasionally get local residents using the loo on the way back to the car. They mean no harm, but there are public loos 100m away they should be using. Other than that it should be pretty much all to yourself.

Isn't there an option for us to have showers but it would cost a stupid amount more to get them? Used by people for sports stuff or something? Either I've lost it, have read threads of old, or just don't have a clue? xD
