Well my housemate has decided that she's coming home tomorrow so I'll talk to her about a lift then.
Anyone going to make use of my N64 if I bring it with me (and if we can hook it up to the projector or something)? I have 4 controllers and a large stack of multi-player games.

heh, I bought my N64 to the last event with over 100 games and nobody was interested! Probably not worth the effort mate.

Can I make a suggestion regarding the N64, how about setting it up in the style of 4 people around a big screen TV rather than a cinema screen? Could you relocate the projector onto a smaller bit of wall when it's not being used for announcements? I'm not sure if having it setup outside of 'the gaming area' is a psychological barrier too.
I adblock smilies.

Having never owned or really played on an N64, it doesn't have the significance to me that it clearly does to some of you guys.
The big Jenga seemed to go down alright even though it was outside of the 'gaming area'.

Yeah, that's what I thought Freelance, but the difficulty is that the N64 (and other classic consoles) give a composite interface - which means projector or TV only (not DVI or VGA). I don't own a TV. If someone is willing to bring a TV along, I'll happily bring the N64 again (but not use it in the quiz, some people didn't like it) and we can set it up on the side somewhere.

I would like to see more consoles at WestLAN, now we have somewhere decent to put it them.

Neil, some consoles are awesome, but it's just different things for different people I guess.

Well I've turned into bit of a mini-collector but I love played them. Having never owned an N64 in my younger years I love picking up a game and just playing. I have both my SNES and my N64 with me at Uni now and I've had quite a few Mortal Kombat 2 nights on the SNES with some of the guys up here. Brilliant fun, especially after a few beers.
I have both Scart and Composite connectors for them and have my 32" TV but at the moment my only possible transport is my housemate and I trust her driving to the point where my laptop will not leave my arms during the journey.

haha, that's funny how similar it is to me :P I had a N64 when I was young, but started collecting also while I was at Uni!

Got any rare carts yet? :) I've got a 2x UK and 1x American console. Rare carts include Starcraft 64 and a mint Zelda: Majoras Mask, off the top of my head. Not looked in quite some time!
