Day trips from stockholm

Postby xconspirisist » Mon Sep 17, 2012 4:05 pm

Hey guys. I want to spend a couple of days out of Stockholm, visiting the surrounding area. One place I would like to visit is the Avesta Municipality, where they have the famous Swedish Dala Horse. Map: http://goo.gl/maps/DxnHe image: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... 070929.jpg

Before I make an plans, is anyone else interested in day trips away from Stockholm, the country capital?

I know there is about a 30% chance of snow in November but that will go up fast if you go a little bit further north

If you have never done either then skiing would be the best place to start, snow boarding is very difficult

Make sure your travel insurance covers winter sports. Otherwise bills can be expensive++

As a new comer this year, I wouldnt mind spending a day or 2 around Stockholm though as I have never been before :P.

I have a couple friends in the city too who I may try and catch up with.

I am up for seeing the horse though!!

had a look at mine and mersons travel insurance - we do not have winter sports cover. So yeah that's at least me out from doing skiing / snowboarding etc.

I'm not going to pass up on it just because of that. If everyone is serious about it i would get winter sport cover.
