After last time i would also suggest

Fan
Water Bottle
Desk light (Its continuously dark inside the hall)
Wouldn't bother buying any food in advance of the LAN. Would bother going to the supermarket and getting some food which isn't junk.
AK47 should the staff decide to wake you as you're in an emergency exit zone which isn't marked. Or to deal with the little shits shouting "alllooo" all night

I think quite possibly. There was several megawatts of computers there, and no ventilation to speak of. Outside was maybe 18C, inside, probably 28-30

Indeed, for dreamhack:

Shorts - Do not attempt to wear trousers inside, it's so hot you will get burn wounds.
Fan - The most useful thing ever.
Water Bottle - Deffo, gl hf in finding a water supply though
Desk light (Its continuously dark inside the hall) - Meah

This time, I'm adding:

Sandles - wearing trainers was too hot.
Lots of wet wipes - to cleanse your face and feet, I made the mistake of walking around in bare foot for an afternoon, err, that was a big fat mistake. Feet were black with muck.
Dry shampoo - Feel less minging after a few days in a room of massive heat and sweat
Blow up mattress - my fucking god the floor was uncomfortable. It was freezing too. I'm podgey, I can sleep standing upwards and in uncomfortable places by my god that sleeping hall was awful without a blow up mattress.

I will be going out on the first morning to the supermarket to get lots of decent munchies. You guys can come with or put an order in. There isn't enough good food to sustain you for 3-4 days at dreamhack without feeling like a soppy sweaty greasy hobo.

<my-2-cents>
Forget a regular, standard issue, usually seen at WestLAN kind of blow up mattress. Spend the money and get one of these: http://cascadedesigns.com/therm-a-rest/mattresses/trek-and-travel/trail-lite-2011/product.
Steve usually sports one of these at lans. I do as well these days. At first I honestly couldn't see how it would be better than a big inflatable one. After trying it, it's a far superior alternative. It makes sleeping at lans sooooo much better.

Smaller to pack, no pump to worry about. Easy to store. A tad pricey, but it is so worth the money.

Have fun :)

That's quite a lot of money for three nights i'm likely to get out of it (I'm not in a position to go to LAN's anymore). My plan was just to take a cheap as chips €15 camping mattress and just leave it there. :D

Re thermarest - They're really comfortable, they're closer to a normal mattress - airbeds aren't breathable, and these don't squish around all over the place and deflate. Mine is 12+ years old now, and it's still good. But I can see the attraction of a cheap matress

There were a couple around

We need liberal amounts of duck tape. We NEED to beat our can tower record, and also a proper England flag to fly off it. 8)

Also on a more serious note..

I gave my UK>EU 6 way back to Mike. Any chance you still have them? I can buy/mod a few for us but if you still have them and don't mind letting us steal them for the holiday that would be awesome. Oh, we will also need some huge network cables. Jani's only just reached the switch last time and he had the biggest one, or we just sit nearer the middle.

All i see is potential can tower ammo..

We will bring lots of duct tape. We will erect an immense flag tower.

well trying to catch up on stuff now i am coming :)

the temp outside will be around 2C so it should be a lot cooler inside the hall but will still get hot def take shorts.

Floor mats are a must, last year i dident take one and have some of the worst sleep ever. the concrete floor was cold even in the summer and am sure i was will due to this.

it is going to be cold out so gloves and a big coat are a must for going outside
