While the hall is a fixed price and we can't loose money every lan, I've got to say don't worry about the numbers, best lans I've ever attended have had 6-12 people.

I agree, I'm sure this was raised in the post SL26 thread. How and where exactly do you advertise a LAN party though? It's not the sort of thing you put in the newspaper and I can't see any real benefit of putting flyers up around Budleigh.

Why is WL not so popular any more? I seem to remember a couple of years ago going to a packed 64 person event. There has been at least one since then with over 40 people. But the last few just seem a bit...not dead...but less lively.

I imagine some of it new games dont come with lan play any more and you need the net for everything.

Agreed Drakey, Game Developers are killing LAN Partys, unless your going to an I series or Dreamhack or similar with a direct Pipe into the core of the telecoms. Dam you Aquascum !!!

Well if LAN was held in any proper city then I don't see what that would be a problem. BT and Virgin both provide products which would easily allow a full Westlan to game over the net. Unfortunately Budleigh is stuck in the 1990's and only has poxy ADSL and will probably never get a proper connection for the next 10 years.

is there not somewhere on the multiplay website that you can advertise for lan partys?

And proper cities bring expensive prices and next to no book space. So you'd be looking at once / twice per year.
