Really enjoyed the LAN, although it took me a while to get into it as usual, loved the Track Mania games we had, aswell as Blur and TF2.
Big up to WestLAN staff for a great lan, keeping everything in working order and taking the time to go out and get us the chinese and for slaving in the kitchen for an hour cooking us breakfast. I hope everyone washed their own dishes and plates!

Also a shout for Xcon for filling in for Opus, you did a good job... 1x virtual cookie for you next time I go.

Thanks guys for another good weekend, 1x beer for all of your next time I come.

No point posting my normal post-lan thread since this one is here now so I'll add my thoughts.

Firstly as usual thanks to staff for organising it. Haven't seen a LAN this big for ages and it was great as usual and good to see a lot of new faces. Hope the new guys enjoyed it and had a good time too.

Thanks to Xcon for taking over the job of tournament organiser, you did a great job (although you never actually sorted out a Time Crisis tourney, will bring the PS3 and Move's next time and hopefully sort out the sound too :)), had some really big games which were awesome like Trackmania with 30+ people, CSS gungames which were actually over-full because of Alienx's maps only having 24 spawn points, the TF2 game on Sunday was also brilliant, that's the first time I've seen so many people play and it really was fun. Also happy I managed to win HL2DM for the first time :D

Quite disappointed no hide and seek got played though :(

Got some photos to upload later, didn't really take many this LAN unfortunately. Also made a bit of a time lapse which I'll have a look at later to see if it's any good, and I got some in-game videos from CSS gungame too (which I believe Neil is going to upload to the Westlan youtube account for me), and the HL2DM round which I won although I've not frapsed and edited that one yet.

Overall a great LAN and the only things which let it down were the awful weather and the person snoring incredibly loudly in the stage sleeping area which prevented me from getting any sleep :?

Good LAN as always. Thanks to those who done everything, brilliant as usual. Well done to Xcon as well, worthy Opus substitute.
Enjoyed the gaming, shame steam was being a bitch and nailed friday's gaming. Same with no hide and seek, that was a laugh last LAN but never got a look into. Nice to rape you all at gungame, i believe Jani has captured my ownage in some videos.
Internet was being its usual self, did have a lot more periods of it working quite nicely this LAN although it was no doubt steam and it's updates which killed it. Otherwise everything was excellent as always.
Look forward to the feb LAN and hope to see some of the noobies return.

What a fantasic LAN, many many people - many new faces just all around great.
Sorry about the internet issues during some parts of the LAN, the wireless bridge seems to not work so well sometimes - but atleast when it came back up steam still worked (unlike last LAN).

Also, i personally apologise for the lag that was in Gungame, the server its hosted on is over 4 years old - but it was a configuration error with tickrates which caused such lag during large player games, as for the 24 player maps - i will see if i can find a way around these by adding more spawn points to the maps we play.

That Track Mania game was also AWESOME! :D

Glad u guys had a good time, see you Feb :)

I got some good fraps video of that TM game, unfortunately I had it set to record multichannel audio (been testing it at home with CSS) and it didn't record any sound :(

Ah that was you :)

They are grainy because I had the ISO set high - 400 or maybe even 800 I think. The downside to shooting in low light like that in the hall is that you have to sacrifice some photo quality in order to expose the photo properly, unless you've got really fast lenses.

Home at last and work in less than 9 hours - BUGGER!

Great LAN as always gentlemen, Xcon is indeed a worthy substitute to Opus although I did unfortunately miss a large number of the organised games due to the mother of all hangovers on Saturday morning (and afternoon and evening).

A great sized event with many welcome new faces and the usual delicious breakfast babs and well executed chinese order. A pitty about the internet issues and the whether but cest la vie, it cant be helped.

Although one question Wishy ..... was it REALLY nessasery for Carts to have to create a "porn shield" for 2 days of the event, surely he wasnt watching anything that we havnt all seen before! :D The man is a natural born pervert - let him have his porn fix unhindered! :P

I never saw that sexy face at the lan, I wonder where he was hiding.

Had a great time, was my first lan and I will definitely be back for the next one, great show.

Also did anyone fraps the CSS obj games? (Not the gungame ones the others)

No it's pointless because there's not enough action and there's no instant respawn. So you end up with 20+ minutes of video per round with fuck all happening from the viewpoint of the narrator. At least with gungame and things like TF2 where you instantly respawn and get back in the action, there's always stuff happening and the videos don't end up really long (and therefore big, a 1080p video with the x264 profile I use works out at well over 100mb per minute).

Thanks to everyone for making this lan fairly successful. Esp thanks to Gooseman for providing us with ammo for witty jabs/jokes.

Great to see so many faces and new ones too. Bit gutted we didn't get a Savage game sort out, seems we need more games that don't rely on Steam.

Props to xcon for standing in. Good fun :)

Will maybe see most of you in a year or so - Lans for me are going on a backburner for a while!

Laterz.
