Seeing as this is going to be a small lan would it be more worthwhile to have just one large row of tables or something that would compact everyone up? The current seating plan is going to leave gaping holes, entire row's at the moment. Anything to help the atmosphere surely will make the lan better.

It might just be that there will be a suden last minute sign up rush (it has been known in the past). Ive got 2 more shinylanners coming down with me that havnt yet signed up and no doubt there will be others.
I agree it might be worth doing (more room for a poker table then!) ;) But prob worth doing it on the set up day.

Sure, you'll get a small influx of last minute signups, I've yet to signup :P Normally, if it turns out to be a smaller lan on the day (small lans are definitely better lans), just abandon the seating plan and huddle together.

If the numbers remain small (Which isn't actually a bad thing) then we'll possibly redo the seating plan when we setup the hall, keeping the same people together

Cool, i remember my second or third lan, 2007ish had about 30ish sign ups and was brilliant, certainly better then the 60 ones. Better atmosphere, better gaming (everyone can fit into the same game lobby and tends to play the same games.), better fridge space :D. Generally better in every way.

Gotta love the saltlan a few years back now which nearly got canceled cause only 12ish people went lol.

All i can remember from that is phil draggin his whole rig from one side of the room to join with us (as he was on his own) by dragging the table over... noisy bugger lol

Small LANs mean easier to organise (therefore better, slicker) tournaments too! Stand by for the WestLAN KING OF GAMERS tournament!

Details to follow, expect the unexpected.
