indeed, simple instructions seem to be possible to follow for some people!

I put Assassination under the Game settings heading on the projector, and as expected some spacker ignored it.

indeed it was an awesome lan, i dont recommend using the g25 on CSS even on a completely flat map jumping or crouching made me miss people lol the sup com tournament was abit fail due to the no no-rush and the team raping of tim :D any chance next time we can have it maybe saturday night or eariler sunday because then we can have 20min no rush on (as im sure most people will agree its much better that way) and alot of people if they get into the second round or third have to leave anyway

Yeah i would also agree with supcom being on Saturday and having a rush timer (even if its small). Short games like HL2:DM and UT need to be played on Sunday as everyone has to leave early most of the time. L4D imo was also way too long, the amount of rounds everyone had to go through was immense. Was so much it never got completed on the Saturday. GunGame was complete rape, but il try and find a massive gg map which can accommodate the amount of people that are playing for the next lan. CSS was great as usual but perhaps the maps used in the tourney can be ones everyone loves and plays all the time (were not all hardcore css players :P) .

Glad to hear everyone had a great time, wish i could have been there... Looking forward to next time and being able to play a mass game of SupCom again. BTW, why do you need rush cap? If youre good then you can build defence enough to stop early attacks...? Its all about the strats I guess.

Supcom will be o the saturday next time for sure, and yeah, a rush timer will be in place, though not long enough for people to build an OMFG CASTLE OF DOOM as a base, just enough time to stop a tech2 air rush in the first 2 mins.

L4Dwill have a revised format (I'm thinking 4 teams max, first come first served) as each game takes so damn long to run, this way we could have a first round knockout followed immediately by the final and it'd all be over in 2 hours.

Due to the... err... complete fuckbaggyness of CS:S servers on LAN (only westlan though, valve hate us) I'm thinking of dropping the CS:S tournament from next LAN and replacing it with another non-steam based team FPS. This would have the added benefit of levelling the playing field, allowing those who haven't lived and breathed Counter-Strike since 1999 to have a shot at a few kills.

Suggestions on a postcard please.

insurgency was good, last game i expected to play there lol. could always have 5v5 of something like unreal 2004 as well as the deathmatch or could do COD4 as we rarely play much of that at the lans but most people have it as theres often a 15 minute game

We should probably organise and advertise the LFS tourny / time trial a little better. Thanks to Jani for doing one at all, it worked out well :)

I'm up for that

How about a UT2004 Instagib Capture the Flag tourny, 16 vs 16 players, an hour or so was quite a lot of fun :) It was more of a big game than a tourny, but still - a lot of fun.
