Holy, shit, lovely rig. Very nice. But if you're going to throw that much at it, where is the SSD?

It is very nice but why kid yourself AMD can hold anything to intel on the high end market these days, just go hop around a few bench marks and you will see its not the sane decision.

Yeah your obviously splashing out so you might as well go i7 the performance increase is well worth the price.

That and the next couple of pages prove the i7 920 is clearly better then all the AMD's.

erm stay back Intel fanboys, ever consider price? the equivalent Intel setup would cost me tonnes more money and since il be spending 12k this week on my first house, this is rather a little present to myself for moving in. :)

besides its already been bought, ordered and is running on my desk as it has been for the last week.

Spending that much then cheaping out on the CPU makes baby jesus slow.

"cheaping out on the cpu" erm, just what do you think a quad 3.2 is? its not exactly slow. (plus iv had it running at 3.8Ghz stable just by moving the multiplier up and slightly increasing the FSB, so itl stomp all over the intel chips at that speed)

i don't care if its 10-15 percent slower than the intel cpu, its 4x cheaper which if im looking for "bang for buck" makes sense.

it also means i could have bought 4 of them for the cost of your intel cpu suggestion, also it would mean changing my mobo from the one that i wanted with the quad crossfire and meant buying triple channel DDR3 which would have cost me more as well.

have a brain, its not "cheaping out" its the fastest AMD cpu currently availible in the Phenom II line.
