Games list

Postby Wishy » Wed Feb 18, 2009 11:43 pm

Hi All,

Only a few days the LAN.

I thought I'd suggest some games to have installed ready for the LAN.

Our main problem at the LAN is Steam. At the previous LAN, a few people didn't have everything installed ahead of time, and things didn't work out very well for them - they were about ready to play CS:S by Sunday and had everybody else at the LAN cursing them for slowing down the net connection. So for the love of god get steam installed and the games up to date before you come! (And come see us if you have problems with the steam install, we think we've got backups sorted for this LAN, you'll need your own steam account still)
Anyway, at a minimum your steam install should have the following
CS:S
Halflife deathmatch

We also suggest
Synergy
DIPRIP
Left4Dead (If you have a licence)
TF2 (If you have a licence)

Hidden Source will be on the file server to download, as they thoughtfully provide an install pack for it. If you've got it, great

Other games you should install if you have them
UT2004
Quake 3
SupComm: Forged Alliances
Flatout 2
COD 4
Savage (Availible free from http://dev.shanes.org/Savage-SFEPlus.zip)
My Little Pony: Best Friends Ball

See you there
Wishy - Westlan Web type person.

Just to let everyone know, steam does not allways update games automatically if you have not played them for awhile.
So it's best to attempt to load the steam games the night before the LAN just to make sure you have them patched and they load properly if you have not played them for awhile.

You don't need offline mode.
