A little kitchen winge

Postby Wishy » Mon Sep 01, 2008 9:33 am

Guys,

Firstly, thanks to everybody who washed up their plates. There were lot more clean plates on the side than last time, and it was a big help.

To the small minority. It took longer for 2 members of staff to clean the kitchen than it did for the other 3 to clean the tables, put away tables + chairs, coil up and sort network cables, sort power cables, shutdown all of the servers, clean the floor and haul all the kit to the cars. It isn't on.
Some mess in the oven we can cope with - everybody uses it, but we've said time and time again, if you use the grill, you clean the grill. We were cleaning reminants of bacon and sausage off it. The drip tray on the griddle was also left, and thats just minging. A handful of people are using these, and its not on. If its the same at next lan, we're going to have to ask you to bring your own frying pans.
There were still a reasonable number of plates, loads of coffee cups and glasses left. 30 seconds effort from everybody would make our lives so much easier.

They were up. And its hardly rocket science to work out your dirty plates won't be washing themselves.

If it helps we can leave one dishwasher crate out for cups / mugs and one for mostly clean knives / forks.

I see you highlight the sausages and bacon on the grill, after giving me evils at the lan about it....

Just so you are aware, i did clean the things up after myself, and you will even find that i washed down the central table on the sunday morning because i was annoyed with the state other people had left it in...

Noodle, We did notice you cleaned up every grill and plate, and that your area had nice clean tables. Unfortunately a second set of people used the grill after you, and were not so thoughtful.

I'm really not trying to direct this at individuals, we weren't paying anywhere near enough attention to who was using the kitchen to be able to attribute any blame. However, I am getting fedup with the kitchen being in a state after every lan. (And I'm sure running a lan yourself, you know what it feels like).
Evils were also not intended, as I say, just getting fedup, and while most people (Yourself included) don't need to be reminded to washup, some seem to.

I cleaned everything I used, all the plates and cutlery, and also the grill after we cooked our ultimate rolls.
