I have never been disappointed at a WestLAN event and that is quite something. The very best lans though have been 30-40, apart from the first lan we got 64 people, that was more of a novelty though.

Jani, LANs become a hell of a lot more fun when you get up an talk to people as well. Knowing people at a lan really differentiates between a bunch of players on the scoreboard and thrashing iMess at CNC. :)

Lympstone was a good hall. The halls were all smaller than the budleigh hall (Much smaller), but a side hall for sleeping was always a bonus.

The advantage of the Budleigh is we can easily bit more in, tables which weigh less than 3 elephants and a hall booking lady who can sucessfullyu book the hall.

I reckon it will be ok, il play anything except rts (I'm stupidly shit at them, so i refuse to play as if im on your team you will lose), other then that i reckon the smaller numbers will be better for games like flatout, and whats been pointed out above its way more social then a full lan.

The main reason there's a lower attendance is it's clashing with exam season, if I was a little later or a month earlier, you would no doubt have more people.

I'm up for some Spam Commander :)

I'm out of touch with games.

Yeah, Jani, some of the 30ish player LANs have been pretty good :) You definately get more of the social side to it, which is at least half the reason I come.

Like xconspirisist said, 64 was great the first time for achievement's sake, and lots of different game varieties, and there was a good atmosphere at the last big LAN but there were also less people in each game - lots of games with under 10 players in. I can find that on the internet anytime.

I'd love to be able to make it to this one but prior commitments etc and all that. See you all in August!

Right, I'm leaving slightly earlier for this LAN. I have discovered an article on the interwebs about fuel economy. Basically, some magazine did a test with a Peugeot 308. They drove it on a motorway with the speed limiter set to 60mph and found that it was achieving over 75mpg - 20mpg higher than the manufacturers figures say!

Driving at 60mph compared to 70mph actually reduces your fuel consumption up to 20%.

Therefore my journey shall be slightly longer, in the interests of my wallet :)

Fuck that im not following you up then. Il follow ben up if he's driving.

Plus people doing 60mph on a 70mph road piss me off, Probably more dangerous going slower then faster on the motorway imo.
