SL12 had an awesome turnout, it was pretty much at capacity (64) all weekend.

Look forward to seeing you at SL13 :D

Sup fella.. where the fuck have you been? Uni?

Lans are alot more relaxed and i think are more fun. We're starting to get more n00bs join and that's great. SL13 i'm gonna be (with Mike's permission) doing a raid on the uni here in Exeter.

We've had some brilliant last few lans, we are certainly seeing lots of fresh n00bs and the last event was rammed full with 63 attendees.

You obviously don't remember the lympstone side hall with 35+ people in ;) That was crammed. (Although we had the main hall for sleeping, which was useful)

The hall with 64 still has loads of room in it, plenty of sleeping space, loads of room for you to move your chair back, etc. 64 is thelimit because of the number of tables we have and they're a right royal pain in the bum to rent and or transport. I wouldn't imagine getting 100 in that hall would actually be impossible. (Sleeping areas would be tighter, but after going to other lan partys, we really don't cram um in!)

For me anything between 40 and 64 is a good number anyway, much more and you don't really know anybody. If you've got numbers that much lower we have to work harder so that everybody is playing the same game.

and 64 people pretty much pushed the power usage to the limit, our table kept cutting out until we got moved to a separate mains supply.

Well, the infrastructure in the hall is good for 100 easy. The trouble is we only tap one of the phases for the DB (63Amp), which isn't quite enough once split down to 13 Amp supplies, unless you've got very even loading. (There are two additional 63amp power supplies and seperate 32 amp rings on the stage and in the hall. As far as we're aware the 3phase is good for ~300 amps, ie ~200 computers.

Its a lession learnt, if we have these numbers again we'll be wiring for mains from the start.

Just stick AlienX on a different supply, all problems will then be sorted.

Sweet! Atleast you haven't abandoned us! :)

Now that Uni is done, you can upgrade ya rig! June Lan is going to be EPIC.

The June lan could be good, there are a couple of good new games scheduled this year.
