Payment options - Nochex

Postby Wishy » Mon Jan 28, 2008 10:09 am

Paypal payments for Saltlan 12 outnumbered nochex by approx 8:1. Its nolonger substantially cheaper than paypal, so it doesn't really make sense to continue taking payments this way.

If anybody has any violent objections to dropping nochex please speak now or forever hold your peace.

id still like to see it, as it can allow payments from those people not happy to use paypal or who dont trust them or dont want the hassle of setting up an account to make a one off payment.

See it isn't using it. If it's not getting used then what's the point? To look pretty on the site?

if it outnumbered it entirely and no-one at all used it whatsoever then remove it, but as 1 in 8 still use it, (8 people in 64) thats still enough to justify its use isnt it? plus it doesnt cost you to have it there.

It adds to my workload having to deal with two payment companys.

We've also had issues in the past with them double billing people (IE two charges on the card statement) which I've had to go to considerable effort to sort out.

Tom, would bank transfer be hard for you to setup as an alternative?

mmm im sure i could use paypal next time, i dont like using paypal too much though as i dont trust them.

nochex will only double bill if the user in question refreshes the page mid payment (which it does warn against doing :P)

no, they have done plenty of double dips without user error, its documented on their support forums.

If they repeatedly pay, I can click refund on the duplicate payment and jobs done. In this case, there were two charges on a credit card bill and one payment in my account
