Best Gigabit NICs on the cheap

Postby Guardsmon » Tue Oct 04, 2011 9:45 pm

Hey guys,

I'm needing a good Gigabit NIC for my HP Microserver and my PC. I'm looking at the Intel Pro series, but unless I buy them 2nd hand I'm looking at a fair bit of cash. Is there much difference between the MT, CT GT, PT etc series? How do Broadcom's compare? And are they really much better than the really cheap ones like Edimax apart from reliability?

I'm needing atleast 1 PCI-E 1 or 4x cards. Looking to keep it below £15 each unless you give me a good reason :)

O and just remembered it needs to be half height pref with a bracket, but can manage without if necessary...

Any help would be great. Thanks
