Some of us didn't know we were going to have to do this, hence why most of my game patches were unavailable for others during the LAN.

But I couldn't connect to many users with the old version, and with the new version i couldn't connect to other people, namely beer04/luckdragon and techfreak's server.

that would be coz they were on a differant version, and that is a good point JimmE, maybe a message on forums saying what version of dc the servers would be on would get people to sort it before lan

Everyone should upgrade to 0.609 before the next lan.

DC: if everyone has the same version and hashes they there won't be a problem? I hashed on the wednesday before the lan.

The westlan servers should have VAC running at the next event so any cheaters have the joys of Valve / Steam to deal with as well as a pack of angry lan goers attacking them with gaffa tape.

As for dc, it was news to us that the latest version could not interact with all the previous versions. A few weeks before the next lan, we will hopefully be putting up on the forums what version of DC should be used at the lan, along with a download link - this should give people enough time to hash shares before the lan.

The Mighty Xorn, prehaps you're a little slower than most, so I'll try and explain bud...

We're talking about the LAN. There were cheaters in CS:S at the LAN. Gooseman said he knew of 6. I'm sure you've found lots online, but that's irrelevent.

they only turned it on right at the end of sunday as far as i know , and it was interesting to see how they work for me as i've never seen one, but yeah its lame and pointless and shouldn't be used imo, especially at an event like this.

great lan guys, really enjoyed it, had fun meeting you, even though the drive there nearly killed me from boredom :o . had some good games, specifically hl2dm and cs:s, brilliant.
