two things to note on this one.

1. Great job team - enjoyed the LAN as did the n00bs i bnought along with me. Thought the css rpg went down well and I truly spanked all of you at HL2Dm which was fun. As for cheating on CSS I didn't see any - and between me and the guys i came with (who mainly play css) did not see a problem with anyone's gameplay?
Its always the same argument you can't force people to play games and this time around thought there were lots off offeres for games which was cool - the UT 2004 was great fun - and we had loads in!

2. - Xorn your a true asshat - so stop moaning about stuff which is complete bollox as usual

Once again thanks to the staff - keep it up (lol at innuendo)

Just thought I'd add a comment that, Myself, Beer, leah, imess(soz if I left anyone out). Had a go at Prey Multiplayer only snag was that is it's a relativly new game, requires quite high spec's and the server is only limited currently to 9 players.

One other thing I have noticed at the lan's is that Qtracker's web interface is broken, that used to be quite useful for checking what game server's were running through out the lan. Could we possibly get it working again?

Yeah. It would be nice if the intranet was updated a little. Had some references to "Saltlan 4" and things like that in the pages, along with providing a link to the old version of DC early on in the lan.

techfreak i use HLSW (google it) for checking the status of the lan servers, its very efficient and works a treat.

And when you're trying to hash 500Gb's of data like me (or 3.something terra like Mike), you don't want to be waiting 3 days for it to hash everything!

But, mike and a few others run the newer version, which caused some problems with people not wanting to upgrade. Hashing is there for a reason, it is a good thing. Upgrade.

I'm sure Qtracker could be easily fixed, if not, provide a link to a HLSW download, which is an awesome tool.

the link is HERE for hlsw tool, i must say its a brilliant tool, and it will give the exact steam id, which is perfect for banning those with aimbots in cs:s as i belive it would only give a lan steam id!

if you want the latest patches from the store on mikes pc then you need to have the latest, and tbh who in there right mind hashes their entire collection at a lan, thats to do before the lan!

There's also a tool built into the Source Dedicated Server, it's known as VAC Secure Mode, and it bans people who use aimbots with absolutely NO admin input or configuration. If you want to test it out, join a server with VAC on and see for yourself how effective it is.

that is also a good thing, but if it cant pick up on some of them then the hlsw tool gives you the steam id, stick it in the ban config file. as far as im concered if u cant play without cheating, then dont play at all, yes it is for fun, but cheating is a nono at ANY lan
