i couldnt get a lan game going over ipx


That's hardly a reason for intelligent people to avoid the protocol, though.

support isnt built in, as has been the point of this thread for the last 1 and 1/2 pages

and IPX isnt difficult, just install the protocol and make the program use the correct network interface.
iv done it for RA2 at home.

yeh i did do that, and selected the correct mac address for my interface, we could see each other in the lobby, but when it came to a game, we couldnt see the game that we had created

Sigh. You need to set the final field in the network config to: 00.00.00.00

I've just got RA1 working over network, so we can play any of them now :)

And I meant EA downgraded the game when they put it into TFD ;)
