Tom, i think you've just found out for yourself that halls aren't free. We're really not out to make a huge profit, but we won't put ourselves in a situation where we're not going to be able to pay for kit when we need it.

We ran out of gigabit ports last lan, we could just say lifes a bitch, pocket the profits and leave you with 100mbit. Its what a lot of lans do, but we put the profits into an account, barely take enough money for petrol to get kit to the lan and leave the rest so we can do this sort of thing.

I think now would be a good opportunity to say a big thankyou to the Westlan team. Ive been going for ages and the management have always done a superb job. The time and dedication (plus forward thinking) from the guys is significant. Thanks lads! :D

i agree they have been well orginised, and i still like coming, otherwise i wouldnt be coming from where i am, i have a lan party that weekend 5 miles from me, but im coming to westlan instead, that shows commitment i think.

the lack of gigabit ports didnt affect nething for me, apart from getting the patches for the games, was bit slower than was expecting!

and the size of the hall, and orginisation is superb compared to uklanparty

so i also say thank you

il put myself forward for 10/100 next lan on server and desktop, as i dont need the speed (plus my server has only got 10/100)

and i was joking, but it would be nice to see the staff on stage, and take a photo :P

wax lan's coming along, and i think we will be fine on costs, just we'l break even, and most of our kit we already own and borrow easily.
just the hall hire

£17 is still a very cheap price. Without heating we would freeze a bit :P .

I somehow manage to arrive early I could give you a hand setting up the kit and stuff. Would be a bonus for my E2E i'll be starting in August. :D
