Saltlan 6: Saltlan 6 and 7 - Dates

Postby Wishy » Mon Jan 16, 2006 10:49 pm

Hi All,

We have booked some more dates for the lans later this year:
Saltlan 6 - 19:00 21st - 17:00 23rd July 2006 - (Signups for this event will be availible closer to the time)
Saltlan 7 - November 9:00 3rd - 17:00 5th November 2006 - (Signups for this event will be availible closer to the time)

We hope we can get some dates in between these events, however we can't get the budleigh hall for any other dates (They're not just picked to annoy people!) Start times are not totally confirmed yet, we may have to start at around 21:00, but we are should be able to avoid this.
Hopefully we'll have 2007 dates (Which there are more of) up in the next few weeks.

A quick note on prices:
For the past two years we've held the price of the lan at £15, despite a move to a newer and more expensive hall. Unfortunately, we've been hit by a huge increase in the electric prices we pay at the hall. Theres also a heating supliment we now need to pay. As a result we've had to increase the online price to £17.
We're sorry to do this, but our margins are tight for the lans, and we need to ensure we can afford to replace kit so we can keep a good network and game servers for you to use. Our lan is still one of the cheapest around, we're just making sure we're still able to offer a decent event.
The staff do not get paid anything for the time they put into running the event.

yeh, door prices are increaseds to £20, which also saves change.

Crossing fingers we might find a new hall, but we'll have to see as changes are quite a lot of work for us, and halls with a list of requirements as long as your arm are hard to come by.

please dont try and get there early.
as you are driving you can plan your journey with no real problem and just leave an extra half an hour earlyer.
a little earlyer is ok but try not to turn up to early as we will be trying to sort out all the stuff for the lan.

mike its not a case of dont try, as im coming bout 230 miles, its to do with traffic, i can either leave at 5 pm and at there at 9pm, or i can leave at 3pm and get there anytime after 6 - 6:30, in which case i would only ask to put my stuff to the side, and go out and grab food b4 the lan

as in i dont stay or setup till the lan attaclly starts at 7pm

If you arrive before 6:30, Your welcome to dump your kit and go to tesco to buy food, but we will really be trying to setup then.

He wants to be out of Birmingham before rush hour sets in. Bristol's not great, so I can imagine Birmingham would be a nightmare.

Birmingham isn't as bad as most people think. Baring any accidents its normally less conjested than bristol if your just going on the motorway past. In fairness, bristol is probably worse for that too, brummy pholosophy is if the roads are busy, nock down something and put another road in.

£2 extra is just unbelievable! i can't understand your reasoning for such a MASSIVE price hike!

but really, I don't think anyone will even notice :)
