Postby Merson » Tue May 12, 2015 6:35 pm

Everything is in this Imgur album to save time and space. Will finish off the build tomorrow when I have more time.

Look nice! Lots of space in that badboy! Will be interested to see how those Noiseblockers perform :D

The build is now complete and the Imgur gallery has been updated!

Lots and lots of space! Really easy to build in, one of the reasons I chose it along with the better direct airflow. The Noiseblockers work well, I have the machine right next to me and while the hum is audible it's not discomfortable or distracting. The fact I could hear the H100i pump before I put it into silent mode says it all really.

Case temps are currently at 32 degrees with all the case fans running at 90%. CPU is around 36 degrees (Sandy Bridge Extreme runs quite hot, overwise it would be in the mid-high 20's). The biggest perk will be the GPU. Being a 970 the fan does not turn on until it reaches a certain temperature. It's 56 degrees at the moment and the fan is not moving. The direct airflow should allow me to play low taxing games with the fan off.

Impressive! Looking at the Corsair 250D for my new upgrade.

I do miss my old Mini-ITX build that I took to DreamHack. I was really tempted to go for the Corsair 240 Air and just get a Micro-ATX board, but that would essentially rule out SLI for me. I require a soundcard and with not wanting to lose the decent PCI one that I have now its an easy choice to go with the 540.

Looks really nice in the case. Might have to do something similar for my next build. The NZXT 810 is a bit big but I like the space.
The only thing I don't like about the 540 is the floor mounted HDD space.

The location could be better but seeing as they are hot swappable it's a sacrifice that I can live with. It's going to make changing drives a one-minute process. You could use the two 5" drive bays in the back if you wanted them to be hidden, or need more than two fat drive spaces.
